While Delta 8 is a cannabinoid, specifically a type of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it’s not the THC people are typically referring to when they use those three letters. That’s delta 9. Delta 8 is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill as long as it is derived from hemp and adheres to the <.3% delta-9-THC rule.
Chemically speaking, HHC includes a hydrogen molecule that THC does not (it’s special like that!). Consumers and scientists alike observe that HHC induces less potent and psychoactive effects than conventional delta-9 THC, but maybe sometimes that’s a good thing! Manufacturers often equate the HHC high with a delta-8 THC high.
THCP is a naturally occurring cannabinoid compound that is highly psychoactive. It is widely believed that THCP is up to 33 times stronger than traditional THC.
